7. Grants - Letter of Consultation

How to Request a Letter of Consultation for Your Grant Application

If you are applying for a grant (e.g, the NSF DLI or NEH DEL) that requires a Letter of Consultation from an archive, please contact AILLA (at ailla@ailla.utexas.org) at least one month before your internal (university-imposed) submission deadline, and include the following information in your contact email:

  1. The name of the funder (e.g., NSF/NEH) and the type of grant (e.g., Senior, Fellowship, DDRIG).
  2. A link to the call for applications for the grant you are applying for.
  3. The date that you need the letter from AILLA.
  4. The title of the project.
  5. Full names of all Principal Investigators (PIs). If you are a graduate student, please indicate that this is your status and include the name of your faculty PI or advisor.
  6. The language name(s) and ISO 639-3 code(s) for all languages included in the project.
  7. The types and formats of the data you plan to submit to AILLA (e.g., audio in WAV, video in MP4, transcription/translation in EAF and PDF, etc.). Please review AILLA's Allowed File Formats; we cannot accept any formats not on this list.
  8. An estimate of the total amount (in GB) of data you plan to submit to AILLA.
  9. An estimate of the percentage of the data that you anticipate will be restricted (that is, not accessible to logged in AILLA users).
  10. Your timeline for when you will submit data and metadata to AILLA.

Please do NOT share your proposal with AILLA.
