The Bureau of Economic Geology maintains a large collection of Texas well logs and core analyses on behalf of the Texas Railroad Commission. Copies are available for purchase.

The Bureau has large Core Research Centers in Austin, Houston and Midland, providing access to >2M boxes of core and cuttings from wells drilled throughout Texas, the U.S., and the world.

RRC maintains historical information that is used by employees, other state agencies, local government, the oil and gas industry, and the general public in its Central Records and Imaging units. An estimated 132 million pages of analog and digital documents encompassing the history of each Texas oil and natural gas well from the drilling permit application to the final plugging report are preserved.

This website hosts the collection of more than 192,000 drillers logs in the Gulf Coastal Plain across 10 states. (LSU)
